Garcia wants to raise insulin costs for seniors, cut Social Security and Medicare

New Whitesides TV Ad Highlights Rep. Mike Garcia Voting Against Capping the Cost of Insulin for Seniors

AGUA DULCE, CA – Today, aerospace businessman George Whitesides released an ad highlighting how Rep. Mike Garcia turned his back on vulnerable seniors by voting against capping the cost of life-saving insulin to $35 a month.

“We need leaders in Congress who are going to lower costs for our community, not leave vulnerable seniors already struggling to make ends meet high and dry,” said George Whitesides. “If Rep. Mike Garcia really cared about lowering costs, he wouldn’t have bent a knee to Big Pharma’s demands and voted against capping the cost of life-saving insulin to $35 a month. I’ll protect our seniors in Congress, while Rep. Mike Garcia’s only looking out for himself.”

Rep. Garcia voted against the Inflation Reduction Act, which capped the cost of insulin to $35 a month for seniors in California and across the country. Garcia’s own Republican Study Committee budget seeks to repeal the historic legislation that is already saving seniors with diabetes hundreds of dollars a month, and Garcia’s budget would also slash seniors’ hard-earned Social Security benefits while privatizing Medicare.

As Rep. Garcia misleads voters on his supposed commitment to lower everyday costs, his track record tells a different story. He has repeatedly threatened the livelihoods of seniors by voting against lowering health care and prescription drug costs and proposing a budget to cut Social Security and Medicare.

Voters know how critical these lifelines are. Whitesides is leading in recent pollingFox News recently ranked CA-27 as “Lean Dem,” while the New York Times called this race the “heart of the fight for control of the House of Representatives.” This district is primed to flip as President Biden won by over 12%, and Rep. Mike Garcia only won by 333 votes in 2020.

Whitesides continues his campaign as a top congressional candidate fundraiser, having the largest cash-on-hand advantage over any incumbent challenger nationwide and doubling incumbent Rep. Mike Garcia’s 2024 fundraising haul.Watch the ad:

IN WASHINGTON, MIKE GARCIA LOOKS OUT FOR HIMSELF.

HE DOESN’T GET HOW SENIORS STRUGGLE TO PAY OUR BILLS.

WHEN CONGRESS VOTED TO LOWER THE COSTS OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS, MIKE GARCIA VOTED NO.

GARCIA VOTED AGAINST CAPPING THE COST OF INSULIN.

THE BIG DRUG COMPANIES GAVE MAGA MIKE $75,000, SO HE SIDES WITH THEM.

NOW, GARCIA’S WORKING TO CUT SOCIAL SECURITY. I RELY ON THOSE CHECKS.
