George Whitesides Statement on Rep. Mike Garcia’s Anti-Choice Track Record

AGUA DULCE, CA – Today, George Whitesides released the following statement after Rep. Mike Garcia claimed he doesn’t support a nationwide abortion ban – despite co-sponsoring the Life at Conception Act twice, H.R. 616 and H.R. 1011, which bans abortion nationwide with no exceptions:

“Rep. Mike Garcia is, in his own words, “pro-life without exception.” He can pull out every trick in the book to try to deceive voters, but let’s be clear: His track record against reproductive freedom speaks for itself.

“The fact is that Mike Garcia co-sponsored legislation to ban abortion nationwide with no exceptions, while imposing severe restrictions on IVF and fertility treatments. No amount of lies and deceit will keep folks in our community from seeing through his dangerous history of attempting to strip women of their fundamental freedoms.

“Make no mistake: Reproductive freedom is on the ballot in 25 days, and only one of us will vote to codify Roe v. Wade and protect the right to choose.”
